OLD WORLD VS. NEW WORLD
Have you heard the terms old world and new world when people talk about wine? It’s actually pretty simple when we break it down. Take a peek at this video we created.
PERFECTLY PAIRING WINE AND CHEESE
One of the best tips for entertaining a small group of friends or family is to keep the refreshments simple. A spread that can be put together quickly and easily is a cheese plate with wine. But even this can feel intimidating when you consider how serious people can be about wine tasting and proper food pairings. You don’t have to be an expert to present a crowd-pleasing cheese and wine pairing, though. Use these ideas and you will impress any guest.

SHOOT THINNING IN THE VINEYARD
It is late spring here in Lake Chelan, Washington. We are in the Northern Hemisphere. I am reminding you about this because growing seasons are different in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Here, our growing season is pretty much March to the end of October.
PRUNING IN THE VINEYARD
We're going to be pruning in the vineyard today, and at Nefarious, we do something called two bud pruning. We do this for a reason. Each one of the buds on these canes will produce a tendril or a shoot. VINEYARD SERIES: JANUARY
This is the first video in a year-long series we will be doing in the vineyard. This is so that you can come to understand what happens in a single growing season. It is January here in Lake Chelan. Some years we have snow on the ground, other years it looks just like it does right now.
HOW TO BUILD YOUR WINE TASTING SKILLS
Whether you have been drinking wine for years or you just started, learning to be a great taster is a different skill than just enjoying a glass of wine. And the answer is with small steps. And a plan.
IN THE VINES WITH NETTING
We only have a little more than 300 acres of vines planted in this valley, and it's a big fruit production area. (apples and pears!) The birds are naturally drawn here. The bird netting is just one of those things about making wine in Lake Chelan. If we don't put up this bird netting to protect our grapes, we won't have any come harvest time. So that is what is the deal here. When you see this in another region, you know that they too are suffering from too many of those friendly creatures. That's really all there is to it.

Have you ever heard the term varietal and not known what that meant? I'm going to explain it to you in terms that are a little easier to understand and relate it to something familiar.

CHOOSING WINE GLASSES THAT WINE LOVES
